Strawberry and mint syrup
Fresh mint is the perfect complement to the sweet taste of strawberries. Mixed with mineral water, this syrup becomes a refreshing summer drink.

Step 1
Wash the strawberries, pat dry and quarter.
Step 2
Wash the mint and shake dry.
Step 3
Heat the strawberries in a large pot with the sugar for about 10 minutes until the fruit is soft.
Step 4
Add water, mint and lemon juice and let everything simmer for 15 – 20 minutes.
Step 5
Then pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a bowl.
Step 6
Pour the syrup into sterilised bottles using a funnel.
Step 7
Store in a cool place after opening. If you boil the syrup down, it will last longer. To do this, close the jars with a preserving ring, glass lid and preserving clips. Cook in a 90°C water bath for 30 minutes.
