Apple Roses
Apple roses are a beautiful, fruity pastry that can be made quickly with just a few ingredients. Thin apple slices are shaped into small roses with puff pastry and then baked until golden brown. Thanks to their delicate appearance, they’re particularly lovely to serve with coffee and cake or as a sweet finale to a meal. Served warm and dusted with a little powdered sugar, apple roses are a real eye-catcher.

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180 ℃. Remove the cold oven rack.
Step 2
Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 12 equal-sized strips along the short side.
Step 3
Wash the apples, cut them in half, and remove the cores. Use a mandoline to slice them into thin slices.
Step 4
Arrange the apple slices on the top edge of the puff pastry strips so that they overlap slightly and extend a little beyond the edge. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Fold the bottom edge of the pastry over.
Step 5
Carefully roll up the strips and place them in the prepared WECK jars. Place the jars on the cold oven rack and put them in the oven. Bake for 20–25 minutes, checking for doneness. Let cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve.
