Horseradish mustard
Apple and horseradish make this mustard an excellent accompaniment to a hearty snack. It also enhances cheese, steak and smoked fish – without any bread at all!

Step 1
Bring the water to the boil with vinegar, sugar and salt. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the mustard flour.
Step 2
Let the mixture cool down.
Step 3
Peel the apple, remove the core, grate finely and mix immediately with the lemon juice.
Step 4
Grate the horseradish and stir it into the mustard mixture along with the apple.
