Pear and cranberry crumble

Step 1
For the compote, peel, quarter and core the pears. Cut the fruit quarters into cubes. Put them in a pot with vanilla sugar, lemon juice, water and brown sugar and bring to the boil. Simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the cranberries and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and pour off the liquid.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 220°C.

For the crumble, mix the flour, almonds, cinnamon, sugar and butter in pieces and work into crumble between your fingers.
Step 4
Divide the compote between the jars and top with the crumble. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 – 20 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar.
